A useful remittance request starts with who is sending, who is receiving, and why. Supplying those details early helps RAGEN determine what must be confirmed next, while keeping bank credentials and identity documents out of an open website form.

The checklist below is designed for an initial remittance request within Canada. It is not a transfer instruction, quote, or confirmation that a transaction can proceed. RAGEN's remittance service is domestic: the sender and the recipient must both be in Canada.

1. Describe the transfer clearly

Identify the province or territory the money is sent from, where the recipient will receive it, the estimated amount in Canadian dollars, and whether the request is personal or for a business.

  • Sender's province or territory
  • Recipient's province or territory
  • Estimated amount, using numbers rather than banking details
  • One-time, occasional, weekly, or monthly frequency

2. Explain the purpose and timing

The purpose provides context for the review. Examples include family support, rent or housing, a gift, or a personal transfer. State when you hope to complete the transfer, but do not assume that a preferred time is a guaranteed delivery date.

Some requests may need further information after the initial review. A short, accurate explanation is more useful than entering private recipient details too early.

3. Choose a payment method and ask about the full cost

Tell RAGEN whether you prefer EFT or Interac e-Transfer, or whether you would like a suggestion. Ask about any service fee, limits that may apply, and when the recipient can expect the funds.

If you hold a foreign currency, exchange it to Canadian dollars first through RAGEN's Currency Exchange service. RAGEN discusses applicable fees after reviewing the actual request.

4. Keep sensitive details in the right channel

Never put online-banking passwords, one-time codes, security answers, full account numbers, identification numbers, or recipient documents into a general enquiry form or WhatsApp message. The first step should establish whether the request can be considered and what approved process follows.

If someone unexpectedly asks for credentials or pressures you to send money before the details are clear, stop and contact the organization through a verified public number. RAGEN's published telephone numbers are 416-214-0000 and 289-597-9167.
